California Cannabis Business Expo is coming to the San Jose Convention Center this fall. Following the resoundingly successful San Diego spring show, the cannabis industry’s leading business forum is expanding.
Produced by MJIC Media and sponsored by the Marijuana Investor Summit, the San Jose show will feature the best and the brightest speakers in the industry sharing their knowledge about the state of the California cannabis industry. Attendees will have numerous networking opportunities with speakers and the more than one hundred exhibiting sponsors.
When – October 27-29, 2017
History – First held in Denver in April of 2015, the first Marijuana Investor Summit and Business Expo won praise from all in attendance. The buzz created by the energy in the networking and educational sessions made us the leading event producer in the industry. San Francisco in 2016 was bigger and better and offered the industry’s best networking and education reflecting the growth of the industry.
The San Diego California Cannabis Business Expo held in March of 2017 featured a sold-out expo hall with more than 2,200 in attendance.
Where – The California Cannabis Business Expo will take place at the San Jose Convention Center in beautiful downtown San Jose. The San Francisco – Oakland – San Jose Designated Market Area (DMA) encompasses the major cities and metropolitan areas of San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose. San Jose is easily accessible for the counties of Santa Cruz and Monterey, long known as cultivation and manufacturing hubs in the cannabis industry.
Who – The attendee list of the California Cannabis Business Expo is a “Who’s Who” of legal cannabis. Attendees will connect with corporate officers from publicly traded companies; owners/operators/managers of the largest providers of ancillary products; management teams of cultivators and dispensaries; qualified investment funds; private equity funds; family offices and angel investors; up-and-coming entrepreneurs; emerging brands; award-winning infused product producers; expert business solutions providers in the legal and accounting fields and more.
Key California and national groups, including the Drug Policy Alliance, Marijuana Policy Project, California Growers Association, California Cannabis Industry Association, NORML and Minority Cannabis Business Association, often participate in CCBE and promote to their members.
Why California – As the disruptor state, California was the first to legalize medical marijuana. In November of 2016, Californians elected to legalize adult-use cannabis. The state now is positioned to be the world’s largest legal marijuana market. California is the heartland of the legal cannabis industry and the place to be to learn how this industry is going to grow.
Media Coverage – We partner with leading media outlets to promote this event to cultivators, dispensary owners and other operators not only throughout California, but throughout the Western U.S. Print advertising, social media and online news outlets with access to an audience of more than 3 million will be heavily promoting the California Cannabis Business Expo and in attendance at the event to capture lead stories in the industry. Our events have been covered by national outlets including Forbes, Fortune and Inc. Magazine and always draw a large local media contingent.
Access Capital – The cannabis industry needs investment to grow, and is locked out from traditional banking and financial sources. Integral to the CCBE is the attendance of many of the largest investors in the cannabis industry and a substantial number of angel investors. These groups are at the show to learn about industry opportunities and are known to have large holdings in the industry already; they are always on the look out for how to leverage their investments with new products, suppliers and partners.
